About the Pokémon Builder

An all-in-one Pokémon build planner: pick any main-series game (Generation I through IX), choose a nature, set EVs and IVs, and select up to 4 moves from that game's actual learnset — final stats, type coverage, and weaknesses update instantly. No separate calculator for each piece.

Useful whether you're planning a build for your current in-game playthrough or laying out a full team ahead of time. Every build is encoded into the URL, so you can share a finished set with a link — no exporting a screenshot or re-typing EVs into a message.

How It Works

  1. Pick a game and a Pokémon — moves and stats are calculated for that specific generation.
  2. Set a nature, then EVs and IVs (or leave IVs at the in-game default of 31).
  3. Select up to 4 moves from the learnset actually available in that game.
  4. Check final stats, type coverage, and weaknesses, then copy the link to share the build.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Pokémon builder free to use?

Yes — no account or login required. Pick a Pokémon, configure the build, and share the link.

Which Pokémon games does the builder support?

All main-series games from Generation I through Generation IX. Available moves are pulled from that specific game's version group, not a Pokémon's full movepool across every game.

Does it calculate real in-game stats?

Yes. Final stats are calculated from level, nature, EVs, and IVs using the actual in-game stat formula, so the numbers match what you'd see on your cartridge or save file.

Can I only pick moves the Pokémon can actually learn?

Yes. The move list is limited to what's learnable in the game you picked — level-up, TM/HM, tutor, or egg move — with the level or method shown for each.

How do I share a build I made?

Click the share/copy link button. The Pokémon, game, level, nature, EV/IV spread, and moves are all encoded in the URL, so anyone who opens the link sees the exact same build.

Does it show type weaknesses and coverage?

Yes. Weaknesses and type coverage are calculated automatically from the Pokémon's type(s) and update as you change the game or moveset.

What are the default EVs and IVs if I don't set them?

EVs default to 0 and IVs default to 31 (the in-game maximum) unless you change them.

Is this the same as the full team builder?

No — this page configures one Pokémon's build. To plan and save a full team of up to 6, use the PartyDex app.
