Generation VI
Best Team for Pokémon Alpha Sapphire
Pokémon Alpha Sapphire is the AS counterpart featuring Primal Kyogre and Latias as the story legendary. The Hoenn remake includes all Mega Evolutions and the Delta Episode with Rayquaza.
Recommended Team
Swampert
Water / Ground — Starter + Mega
Mudkip's Water/Ground typing gives Swampert only one weakness (Grass); Mega Swampert (Swampertite) adds Swift Swim in rain, making it blisteringly fast in the Delta Episode.
Latias
Dragon / Psychic — Gifted Legendary
Received after stopping Primal Kyogre in AS; Latias has higher bulk than Latios and Mist Ball provides a reliable Special Attack drop on tough opponents.
Gardevoir
Psychic / Fairy — Mega Attacker
Route 102 Ralts evolves into one of the most versatile special attackers; Mega Gardevoir's Pixilate ability turns Normal moves into Fairy, making Hyper Voice devastating.
Altaria
Dragon / Flying — Mega Sweeper
Swablu on Route 114; Mega Altaria (Altarianite) becomes Dragon/Fairy and gains access to Dragon Dance, making it a surprisingly powerful late-game sweeper.
Manectric
Electric — Mega Speed Attacker
Electrike on Route 110; Mega Manectric's Intimidate + high Speed handles the Flying and Water types that Swampert and Gardevoir don't cover.
Tentacruel
Water / Poison — HM User
Tentacool on water routes carries Surf, Dive, and Waterfall, keeping the team's battle slots clean for offensive moves.
Tips & Notes
- →
Mega Altaria requires the Altarianite, which is found in Lilycove City; it's worth the detour since Mega Altaria is one of the most underrated Megas in ORAS.
- →
Latiasite is exclusive to AS; trade with OR players if you want to Mega Evolve your Latias.
- →
Primal Kyogre enables permanent heavy rain in battle — build a Rain Dance team with Swift Swim Pokémon if you add Kyogre to the party.
