Generation IX
Best Team for Pokémon Scarlet
Pokémon Scarlet is an open-world adventure through the Spain-inspired Paldea region with three separate story paths. Introduces 103 new Pokémon, the ancient Paradox Pokémon, and Terastallization as the combat mechanic.
Recommended Team
Skeledirge
Fire / Ghost — Starter
Fuecoco's Fire/Ghost typing gives Skeledirge immunity to Normal, Fighting, and Ground attacks; Torch Song raises Special Attack each use and is one of the best moves in Paldea.
Annihilape
Fighting / Ghost — Rage Fist Sweeper
Catch a Mankey in South Province Area Two; it evolves into Primeape at level 28, then use Rage Fist 20 times in battle for Annihilape, which has one of the highest Attack stats in Paldea.
Iron Hands
Fighting / Electric — Paradox Powerhouse
Iron Hands is a Scarlet-exclusive Paradox Pokémon found in Area Zero after reaching it in the story; its enormous HP and Attack make it one of the strongest Pokémon available in the game.
Baxcalibur
Dragon / Ice — Physical Sweeper
Catch Frigibax in Glaseado Mountain; Baxcalibur's Glaive Rush is the strongest Dragon-type physical move available and its Attack stat is among the highest of any non-legendary.
Gardevoir
Psychic / Fairy — Special Attacker
Ralts is found in South Province Area One early in the game; Gardevoir's Moonblast and Psychic provide Fairy and Psychic coverage that Skeledirge and Annihilape lack.
Lucario
Fighting / Steel — Mixed Attacker
Riolu is found in South Province Area Two early on; Lucario's Aura Sphere and Close Combat provide reliable Fighting damage alongside a Steel-type resistance list.
Tips & Notes
- →
The three story paths (Victory Road, Starfall Street, Path of Legends) can be completed in any order — tackle gyms, Team Star bases, and Titan Pokémon as you prefer.
- →
Annihilape requires using Rage Fist 20 times (not in one battle) before the next level-up triggers the evolution — track uses across multiple fights.
- →
Terastallization can change a Pokémon's type for one battle — Terastal Skeledirge as a pure Fire type removes its Ghost-type weaknesses from Dark and Ghost moves.
