Generation IX
Best Team for Pokémon Violet
Pokémon Violet is Scarlet's companion featuring Miraidon and the futuristic Paradox Pokémon including Flutter Mane, Iron Bundle, and Iron Hands. Sprigatito's Meowscarada is the most popular Violet starter.
Recommended Team
Meowscarada
Grass / Dark — Speed Starter
Sprigatito's Grass/Dark typing gives Meowscarada unique coverage; Flower Trick never misses and always crits, and Knock Off handles Psychic types that resist Grass moves.
Flutter Mane
Ghost / Fairy — Paradox Attacker
Flutter Mane is a Violet-exclusive Paradox Pokémon found in Area Zero; its astronomical Special Attack and Speed make it arguably the strongest non-legendary in the game.
Baxcalibur
Dragon / Ice — Physical Sweeper
Frigibax in Glaseado Mountain evolves into Baxcalibur, a Dragon/Ice physical sweeper with Glaive Rush dealing enormous damage to almost everything in Paldea.
Annihilape
Fighting / Ghost — Rage Fist Sweeper
Mankey in South Province Area Two → Primeape at 28 → use Rage Fist 20 times in battle for Annihilape; covers Dark and Normal types that Meowscarada and Flutter Mane struggle with.
Gardevoir
Psychic / Fairy — Special Attacker
Ralts in South Province Area One evolves into Gardevoir early; its Psychic and Fairy coverage complements Flutter Mane's Ghost and Fairy without duplicating roles.
Lucario
Fighting / Steel — Coverage Attacker
Riolu in South Province Area Two evolves into Lucario; provides Steel resistances and Fighting coverage alongside the team's other physical and special attackers.
Tips & Notes
- →
Flutter Mane requires reaching Area Zero during the main story finale; it's worth keeping a slot open specifically for it as it transforms the team's power level.
- →
Meowscarada's Flower Trick (Grass, 70 power, never misses, always a critical hit) makes it excellent against high-Defence opponents in the Elite Four.
- →
Paldea's open world lets you access Pokémon at any level — Frigibax for Baxcalibur lives in the snowy mountains and is accessible mid-game with some exploration.
